Company History & Overview

Incorporated in 2007, CEVA is a young company, but our entrepreneurial spirit can be traced to 1946, when Thomas Nationwide Transport (TNT) was founded in Australia with a single truck. Over the next 5 decades, TNT gained a worldwide reputation in contract logistics. On the opposite side of the world, EGL was born in Houston, Texas in 1984. Within 15 years, it had become a global force in freight management with operations in more than 100 countries. Between 1996 and 2006, TNT was acquired twice and renamed CEVA Logistics. In 2006, EGL was also bought and merged into CEVA. In 2019, CEVA was acquired by CMA CGM, a leading worldwide shipping group, to form a strategic partnership with the goal of providing end-to-end logistics.
Today, CEVA Logistics is a global 3PL/4PL services leader with 110,000 employees operating over 1,300 facilities in more than 170 countries. We are the #3 Contract Logistics services provider in the world and a top 10 global Freight Forwarder. We serve a wide variety of client across all sectors (Consumer & Retail, Automotive, Energy, Healthcare, Industrial & Aerospace and Technology).
In North America (US, Canada and Mexico), CEVA operates more than 112 contract logistics warehouses, both multi-tenant and dedicated, comprising a total of over 22 million square feet. Globally, CEVA has over 11 million sqm of warehousing space.

Acquired Companies

In 2019, CEVA was acquired by CMA CGM, a leading worldwide shipping group. Our major acquisitions since then illustrate our bold ambition. In 2020, we opened more than 16 new CEVA entities in Africa through acquisitions, making of our African footprint one of the most extensive in the market. In 2021, the acquisition of Cargex in Colombia allowed us to take a strong position in the Latin American perishables market. In 2022, we invested in eCommerce logistics through acquisitions of Colis Privé, Ingram Micro CLS and Shipwire, and we have expanded our reach in automotive logistics through the acquisition of GEFCO.
