Standing Up Systems for Omnichannel Retail Launch
The Challenge
An emerging beauty company was preparing for its first major retail debut with Nordstrom, while simultaneously launching its DTC channel and onboarding a new 3PL partner in Indianapolis.
The brand faced a perfect storm of complexity:
- First ERP (NetSuite) implementation
- New EDI integration
- Nordstrom compliance requirements
- A brand-new 3PL relationship
All of this had to go live within months, and with no internal team to manage daily EDI operations or retailer setup.
Our Approach
Izba stepped in to lead the technical and operational buildout behind the scenes:
EDI Implementation Management
- Evaluated six EDI providers, leading the selection of EzCom for its intuitive interface and Nordstrom onboarding support.
- Managed all mapping, testing, and NetSuite integrations to ensure data integrity across systems.
Retail Operations Enablement
- Worked directly with the 3PL to align labeling, ASN, PO, and confirmation requirements for Nordstrom.
- Oversaw the import, verification, and successful execution of the retailer’s first orders.
Order-to-Cash Management
- Managed daily EDI operations post-launch, troubleshooting exceptions, ensuring seamless order flow, and maintaining fulfillment accuracy.
- Developed SOPs and training for internal teams to prepare for future retail partners like Sephora, Ulta, Bluemercury, and Anthropologie.
The Outcome
- Flawless Nordstrom launch with zero EDI or order-to-cash errors.
- Integrated systems across NetSuite, EDI, and 3PL for a scalable, compliant retail backbone.
- Operational confidence established for upcoming DTC and retailer launches.
- Future-ready foundation for omnichannel growth and multi-brand expansion.
Izba built the operational infrastructure they needed to move from launch mode to leadership, standing up the systems that make scale sustainable.
